Practice Mindfulness With Us
Featured Sessions
We are a nonprofit on a mission of delivering accessible mindfulness programs for a healthier Fairfield County. Despite the proven benefits of mindfulness, local under-resourced neighborhoods face barriers to these tools. We're breaking down those barriers with free in-person and virtual meditation sessions.

Mindful Listening + Speaking 2-Part Workshop, with New Canaan Library (zoom)
The 2-part workshop will take place over Zoom from 6:30 – 8:00 PM on Wednesday June 2 and Thursday June 3. All participants are asked to commit to both sessions and to keep their videos on for the presentation (90% of communication is non-verbal, after all!)
Now more than ever, it is important to learn how to listen to each other and to feel comfortable expressing ourselves. The Community Mindfulness Project invites all to experience what it’s like to be truly listened to, and to listen deeply to others through an interactive workshop that will change the way you think about dialogue, and leave you feeling empowered to listen openly and speak openly on any topic. This is CMP’s most popular workshop for a reason. Come see why!
This program is part of The Listening Space, a new series established by New Canaan Library in the spring of 2021. The Listening Space offers an inclusive forum and public programs centered on active listening and storytelling between people with differing beliefs and identities, with the goal of building greater understanding and minimizing prejudice and polarization.

10 Mindful Moments with Darien Library
10 Mindful Moments to Build into Your Day with Darien Library
The human nervous system has evolved to sustain short, acute periods of stress and then return to baseline when we’re no longer in danger. We may find, though, that our stress becomes chronic rather than acute, which can pose physical and mental health challenges.
Short moments (sometimes just 60 seconds!) of mindfulness sprinkled throughout the day can help us re-regulate, and live healthier, happier lives. Join us to learn about these simple effective techniques to reduce stress and live with a greater sense of ease.
Registration required. Visit Darien Library for details.
This event will take place on Zoom. You will receive an email confirming your registration with a link to join the meeting an hour before the event, Thursday, November 5th

Your questions, answered.
-
There are no unsuccessful or bad meditation sessions! That's why it's called a "practice." Sitting quietly is beneficial.
-
You can keep your eyes open during the meditation, or "hooded" (half-open/half-closed), whatever helps you feel safe and relaxed.
-
Arrive just as you are. Most people sit in a chair and chairs are always available. Much of the time we will be still so you may wish to bring a light sweater, but no special clothing is required.
-
Our weekly sessions are free and open to the public. We rely on donations. Our suggested donation is $20 for our in person session and $3 for each dial-in or Zoom. If you’re willing and able, donate here!
