JaTorra Commodore, Facilitator
JaTorra is excited to join the Community Mindfulness Project as a facilitator. Originally from New York City, she has called Connecticut home for the past 17 years. A proud wife and mother of two, she is also a former veteran teacher of 20 years and the founder of Raise Your Vibe Collective, a wellness brand dedicated to uplifting individuals through mindfulness, meditation, yoga, and soul-care practices.
With certifications in sound healing, yoga, and mindfulness facilitation, JaTorra weaves together diverse modalities to create spaces that are both grounding and transformative. Her facilitation is rooted in compassion, accessibility, and connection. Whether guiding a meditation, leading a yoga class, or supporting someone’s personal wellness journey, she emphasizes presence, self-compassion, and the belief that everyone deserves moments of stillness to reset and restore. She has led mindfulness sessions in schools, workplaces, and community spaces, always with the intention of making mindfulness practical, approachable, and inclusive.
Through her work with Raise Your Vibe Collective and Community Mindfulness Project, she is committed to helping people pause from the busyness of life, cultivate inner peace, and feel a sense of belonging within themselves and with others. Her personal philosophy is that when individuals raise their own vibration through mindfulness and self-care, they contribute to raising the collective energy of their communities and the world.
When she’s not teaching or facilitating, JaTorra enjoys writing, traveling, and spending quality time with her family. Her happy place is the beach, where she soaks up the sun, the sound of the waves, and the gift of stillness.

Community Mindfulness Project is a nonprofit on a mission of delivering accessible mindfulness programs for a healthier Fairfield County. Despite the proven benefits of mindfulness, local under-resourced neighborhoods face barriers to these tools. We're breaking those down those barriers with free in-person and virtual meditation sessions.
