Melissa Slattery, Facilitator

Melissa Slattery is a seasoned educator and creative professional who served as an adjunct professor in the Humanities & Fine Art Department at Norwalk Community College from 2001 through 2024. At NCC, Melissa Slattery taught interdisciplinary studies courses that fostered creativity and critical thinking through the exploration of fine art, literature, music, dance, and film. She held various roles at the College, including Special Project Coordinator for a digital history of Norwalk Community College and served 10 years as Public Relations and Marketing Graphics Specialist. She has also worked for the City of Norwalk as the Curator for the Mayor's Gallery where she developed art exhibitions, events and workshops. She currently pursues her interest in poetry and community support through her writing and meditation practices. She holds a 200 hour yoga YTT certificate and has studied with Sri Dharma Mittra at Kripalu Yoga Center. She holds a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies from Wesleyan University and a BFA in Interdisciplinary Studies from the California College of Arts and Crafts, now known as California College of the Arts.
