Urban Forest Bathing Mindfulness Program

Urban Forest Bathing Mindfulness Program

OCTOBER 2025

Sundays 12pm - 1pm

Fodor Farms, 328 Flax Hill Rd, Norwalk

Community Mindfulness Project (CMP)  is excited to share a free, four week Urban Forest Bathing Meditation Program with the Norwalk community this October.

Join us on Sundays from 12pm - 1pm for any or all of this Urban Forest Bathing 4-week program at Fodor Farms.

The practice of forest bathing, also known as shinrin-yoku, originated in Japan in the 1980s. The term was coined by the Japanese Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries in 1982 and translates as "taking in the forest atmosphere" or "forest bathing." Forest environments were found to reduce stress, lower blood pressure, boost the immune system and improve mood. These findings have led to the recognition and promotion of Forest Bathing as a meditative practice, as well as a form of preventative healthcare.

Community Mindfulness Project has joined in collaboration with the Norwalk Tree Alliance and Graceworks of Stamford, CT, to offer this free four week program to the Norwalk community. The NTA will be on hand to share important information about their mission to preserve Norwalk’s urban forest for generations to come. Graceworks is dedicated to investing in future generations, with a current focus on climate change and working with people around the world to improve lives.

Everyone is welcome to join. No prior meditation experience is necessary. The Norwalk Tree Alliance will provide a brief overview of their work at Fodor Farm in the apple orchard and tree farm areas. We will meet rain or shine at Fodor Farm.

Please register below for the programs you'll attend. We'll follow-up as it gets closer with a reminder email. Rain or shine (there is a covered space in the event of inclement weather).

Space is limited.
