Mindfulness in Plain English by Bhante Gunarantana

Over the past 25 years, this work has influenced countless numbers of people. One of us read this book many years ago and it steered us along the path toward a daily meditation practice. It's a practical manual into the nuts and bolts of Vipassana Buddhism  (which gave the world Insight Meditation.) For those of us with a logical approach, this is an attractive work, focusing on the clinical and analytical nature of Insight Meditation. No loosey-goosey stuff here. This is a great place to start a practice and is worthy of rereading every few years.
