Free guided gratitude practices for you! 🥧🧘
As today marks a widespread day of gratitude, I want to take a moment to thank you for valuing presence, compassion, and connection.
At Community Mindfulness Project, we see every day how simple, intentional pauses in groups can rewire the mind, calm the body, create a sense of belonging, and open the heart.
The Science of Gratitude
Research shows that practicing gratitude doesn’t just feel good.. it changes the brain. When we take even a moment to notice what we appreciate, our neural pathways for joy and resilience grow stronger. Gratitude lowers stress hormones, supports better sleep, and helps us regulate our emotions more effectively.
And at a community level, gratitude is connective tissue.
When we pause to acknowledge and share appreciation, we remind each other that we’re not walking through the world alone. Gratitude helps us recognize, in both small and meaningful ways, that we have enough. A grateful heart naturally becomes a generous one.
During a recent program, Julia shared a passage that has stayed with her for many years. We see it as a gentle call to presence and kindness, especially resonant on a day like today:
I expect to pass through
This world but once.
Any good therefore
That I can do,
Or any kindness that
I can show to any fellow
Creature, let me do it now.
Let me not Defer
Or neglect it, for
I shall not pass
This way again.
