Intro to Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction

What to expect

6-Week Program: Sept 23 - Oct 28, 2026

Wednesdays 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM via Zoom

Join our expert facilitator, Lisa Sheehan, this Autumn 2026, on Zoom, for an Introduction to the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program created at UMass Medical School by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn in 1979.  With concepts and practices drawn directly from the original 8-week MBSR program, this is an experiential, introspective program that examines the science behind mindfulness, the psychology and physiology of stress, and encompasses a variety of mindfulness techniques, including meditation. Explore how mindfulness supports present moment awareness of sensations, thoughts, and emotions - building internal resources to manage stress and our responses.

No previous experience is necessary to participate in this 6-week Intro to MBSR program. All are welcome. Registration is open and space is limited.

Because this is an interactive experience and for participants’ privacy, sessions are not recorded.

Sign up as soon as possible. To maintain the dynamic, interactive experience, courses are capped at 15 people maximum.

Once you complete registration and as we get closer, Julia from our team will reach out to you with further details.
